Temperatures were forecast to rise above freezing Friday, for the first time since Monday, with highs around 40 degrees.
The morning was forecast to start off cold again, around 20 degrees, rising above the freezing mark by midday. Temperatures have remained well below freezing since a cold front brought frigid air back to the region Monday.
Mostly cloudy skies were expected throughout the day and through the weekend.
February was forecast to start off with highs in the upper 40s and lows in the mid-30s Saturday, with areas of fog possible in the early morning and late evening.
Rain is possible Saturday, with temperatures reaching about 50 degrees and lows around 30 degrees.
Highs were expected to drop back into the upper 30s to around 40 degrees early next week, with chances for a wintry mix Monday and Tuesday, most likely Tuesday night.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
