Winds are expected to be calmer in the Baltimore area Friday, but still making it feel close to freezing throughout the day.
High temperatures are forecast to near 40 degrees, with wind chills in the low- to mid-20s in the morning and lower 30s in the afternoon. A northwest breeze of 10-15 mph is expected through the afternoon.
A small craft advisory is in effect on the Chesapeake Bay through 11 a.m.
Clouds are expected to move in overnight, bringing snowfall by the wee hours of Saturday morning. The snow is expected to turn to rain and sleet in many areas by the afternoon, with 1-2 inches of snow possible through Saturday evening in Baltimore and points south and 2-4 inches to the north and west.
