Friday forecast: Chance of rain with highs around 50

A low-pressure system passing northwest of Maryland will bring chances for light rain showers Friday, with temperatures reaching highs around 50 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service expects a 60 percent chance of showers in the Baltimore area Friday afternoon and lingering into the evening. Lows are expected in the mid-40s.

After the low-pressure system passes by, temperatures are expected to rise, though clouds are still in the forecast. Patchy fog is possible Saturday morning, eventually giving way to partly cloudy skies and highs around 60 degrees.

Sunday, temperatures are forecast to rise to the mid-60s with mostly cloudy skies. Weekend lows are expected around 50 degrees.

The warm spell is expected to end by Monday, when another chance of showers crops up and low temperatures fall back to around 40 degrees.
