The season's first freeze is likely Tuesday night in northern Baltimore suburbs.

The season’s first freeze is likely in outlying Baltimore suburbs late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for Carroll County and northern Baltimore and Harford counties. Low temperatures are forecast in the lower 30s in those areas.

In Baltimore and along the Interstate 95 corridor, a frost advisory is in effect, with lows forecast in the mid-30s. The advisory covers Baltimore City, Howard and Anne Arundel counties and southern Baltimore and Harford counties.

Cover any vulnerable plants and bring pots inside — the growing season is coming to an end.

High pressure is over the region for the early part of this week, and chilly air is blowing in from the northwest. With no clouds to insulate the region, temperatures are expected to fall rapidly after sunset.

Highs are forecast only in the mid- to upper-50s through Wednesday, about 5-10 degrees below average for this time of year.
