Dry, cool weather expected for Halloween, under a moonless sky

Dry and cool weather is forecast for trick-or-treating under a moonless sky on Halloween.

Seasonably cool, dry weather is forecast for trick-or-treaters on Halloween.

Temperatures are forecast to fall from the upper 50s into the mid- and lower-50s as costumed kids take to neighborhood streets across the region Monday.

Forecasters expect sunny skies during the day and a partly cloudy sky in the evening.

The sky will be moonless, so don’t forget a flashlight. The new moon arrives Sunday at 1:38 p.m.

Before Halloween, another spell of unseasonably warm weather is forecast over the weekend. As was the pattern earlier this month, an area of high pressure is expected to cover the southeastern United States, circulating in warm air from the south and southwest.

Highs are forecast in the lower 70s with lows in the 40s and 50s Saturday and Sunday.
