Damaging winds possible through Monday afternoon

Here is where the strongest wind gusts around the region have been reported.

Wind gusts of up to 45 mph could knock down tree branches and power lines through Monday evening, meteorologists warned.

A wind advisory is in effect for Carroll, Baltimore, Howard and Harford counties and Baltimore City through 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Steady winds from the west are expected at 15 to 25 mph, with stronger gusts.

Wind gusts as strong as 54 mph were reported at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport on Sunday.

Other severe gusts around the region Sunday included 58 mph at Fort Detrick in Frederick County and 56 mph at Andrews Air Force Base in Prince George's County, according to the weather service.

Nearly 1,000 Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. customers were without power as of 11:12 a.m. Monday. Nearly 33,000 outages had been restored.
