Cloudy skies, highs in mid-40s forecast Thursday

A gradual warm-up is forecast to begin Thursday, with highs in the mid-40s Thursday and back to normal in the upper 50s Friday.

Thursday morning was expected to start off in the low 20s, with partly cloudy skies in the morning and mostly cloudy skies by midday. Temperatures could stay in the 40s through Thursday night into Friday morning.

The temperature at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport hit 20 degrees at about 7 a.m., according to the National Weather Service, tying a record set in 2001.

Highs Friday were forecast in the upper 50s, with rain showers likely throughout the day. The same weather was expected Saturday.

Rain was expected to taper off by midday Sunday, with highs in the mid-50s.

Monday for Opening Day at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, highs in the mid-60s and partly cloudy skies were forecast.
