Wednesday forecast: Sunny, high near 51

The National Weather Service is calling for Wednesday to be sunny in the Baltimore area, with a high near 51 and north winds 7 to 9 miles per hour.

A small craft advisory is in effect until mid-afternoon Wednesday for the lower Potomac River and Maryland Chesapeake Bay south of Pooles Island. The small craft advisory continues through Wednesday evening for the lower tidal Potomac River and Maryland Chesapeake Bay south of Sandy Point.

Wednesday night is expected to be mostly clear, with a low around 37 and north winds 3 to 6 miles per hour.

Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 52 and northwest winds 3 to 5 miles per hour.

Thursday night is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low around 39 and calm winds.
