State police say a snowplow driver was not seriously hurt when his truck ran off the road and flipped over.

The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. Friday on Goodview Road in Bedford County.  A state trooper said the plow was clearing snow from the shoulder of the road when it hit a soft spot.  The tire sank into the bank and the plow ran off the road.

The driver was taken to a hospital to be checked out but investigators don't believe his injuries are serious.

Troopers say the road will be closed later this morning so crews can remove the truck.  They expect that process to take less than an hour.

A spokesman for the Virginia Department of Transportation can't confirm any injuries but said state troopers are on scene.
