George Allen might be the odds-on favorite to win the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate, but Jamie Radtke is hoping to give him a run for his money. Radtke visited Roanoke Monday, on a campaign swing that took her through Southwest Virginia.
A graduate of Liberty University and a leader of Virginia's tea party movement, Radtke says her campaign is building momentum.
"I consider myself a Republican tea party candidate," Radtke told News 7 Monday afternoon, "but our message has been resonating with Libertarians, Democrats, Republicans, because we say stop the insanity, you have to stop the spending."
Radtke isn't the only Republican who wants to challenge Allen. At least five others are reportedly interested in the GOP Senate nomination.
