ROANOKE, Va.—Some lucky kids got a tour of the greatest show on earth on Thursday.
Students at the Blue Ridge Autism Center got a preview of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus at the Roanoke Civic Center.
They were able to see some of the top performers, and check out the costumes and props first-hand.
It turns out, the circus contacted the school to invite the kids.
“We did have a great time, and it's just so nice of them to welcome us. Many of our families feel so flattered that they thought of the kids because many kids [with autism] don't get to have an experience like this,” Senior Program Director Samantha McFarland said.
The circus will be in town through Sunday.
