Saturday couldn't have been a more perfect day for the 2nd annual Troutville Trail Days celebration.
The event is all about awareness and appreciation of the Appalachian Trail, its hikers and the community.
From outdoor activities to demonstrations to projects for the kids, this year's party didn't dissappoint.
Local food, vendors and live music also kept visitors entertained. You could even attend a hiking clinic or guided hikes to brush up on your skills.
The event also provided plenty for thru-hikers using the trail to head up and down parts of the east coast.
"It gives them the opportunity to see folks and we also have somebody repairing gear, somebody with a sewing machine and they can sew up things for them, we have a doctor," Helen Tippie of Together For Troutville told Your Hometown News Leader.
Thru-hikers hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine.
Organizers say the event has grown and expect it to be even bigger next year.
If you missed Saturday's fun, Trail Days continues through Sunday from 10 until 5.
