Gloomy weather pushed some of your Labor Day fun indoors.
That didn't stop many of you from spending your holiday on the water. Boaters were out in strong numbers at Smith Mountain Lake.
Some had to cut their plans short, when rain started coming down heavy after lunch.
"We were planning on a full day at the lake, but we decided to cut it in half due to the potential rain, and the way it looks right now, we'll see how it goes, but we'll have fun either way," said Samuel Wegert, who traveled from Charlottesville Monday to visit Smith Mountain Lake.
Marina owners say regardless of the weather, Labor Day tends to be slow at the lake. Many kids are already back in school, and families who visit the area for the holiday weekend typically leave Monday morning.
