A man wanted for killing his wife in Wake County, North Carolina, was arrested in Galax on Wednesday. According to the Galax Police Department, his wife's body was found in the bed of the pickup truck.

Galax detectives say he was arrested without incident.

Galax investigators are charging the suspect with being a fugitive from justice in North Carolina.

He's being held in the New River Valley Regional Jail until he is extradited.

A spokesperson for Galax Police Chief Rick Clark advised that a NC man was apprehended by Galax Police on May 23, 2012 who was alleged to have committed a murder in Wake County NC.

Galax Police along with the Carroll and Grayson Sheriffs Offices had been requested to be on the lookout for a suspect vehicle. The vehicle was spotted by Captain James Cox and Police Officer Drew Bobbitt traveling West on Stuart Drive in the City of Galax at approximately 2:50PM.

The suspect was arrested without incident; the arresting officers discovered the body of a deceased W/F in the bed of the truck operated by the suspects.

Galax Police are working in conjunction with the Wake County, NC Sheriffs Office where the crime is believed to have occurred. Galax Police Detectives will charge the suspect with being a fugitive from the State of North Carolina. The extradition is being coordinated by the District Attorney of Wake County, N.C. and Nathan Lyons, Carroll Commonwealths Attorney.

The suspect will be held in the New River Valley Regional Jail pending extradition proceedings.
