A North Carolina is in critical but stable condition after reportedly being maimed by two pit bulls in Henry County.
The incident happened Wednesday on Cabin Hill Drive.
Investigators said they found 52-year-old James Gann of Stoneville, North Carolina, bleeding badly while sitting on the shoulder of Route 220 South in Ridgeway.
Gann had extensive injuries to his extremities, and several other injuries to other parts of his body.
Gann was taken to Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County, and later airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Gann is having surgery for his injuries.
The two pit bulls were taken to the Henry County Animal Shelter and are being quarantined.
