The spring race at Martinsville Speedway has a new sponsor.

Martinsville Speedway announced that the spring NASCAR Sprint Cup race will be sponsored by STP, and be called the STP Gas Booster 500.

Martinsville Speedway president Clay Campbell made the announcement Thursday at Daytona International Speedway, alongside Richard Petty.

“Ya know, they're just synonymous with racing,” Campbell said. “Going back to when I was a kid, STP was so big with the Pettys, and we're real excited to have them on board with Martinsville,” Campbell said. “I think it's a good fit, and I think they're pleased about being in a partnership with us, and I think it's gonna be a great relationship.  The fans are gonna really like it because it's a true racing product, so we're excited about it.”

The spring NASCAR race at Martinsville Speedway is April 7.

The fall Sprint Cup race at Martinsville, the Goody’s Fast Relief 500, is Oct. 27.
