Getting a haircut at one Lynchburg salon this weekend will help a family in need.
Sage Tryall Salon on Wards Ferry Road is holding a "Cut-A-Thon." 100% of the proceeds will go to the family of Elisha Kahlich, a 12-year-old boy that was hit while riding his bicycle on Oakridge Boulevard last August.
Kahlich was in a Charlottesville hospital for two months. Today he's back home, but his family is having to pay for round-the-clock medical care.
"Financially we just wanted to do whatever we could do to help contribute to them, just for the bills and for the time they need to take away from their work and job," said Stephanie Flynn, an employee of Sage Tryall Salon who is organizing this weekend's fundraiser.
The Cut-A-Thon is this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Donors are asked to bring cash or a check, so that funds can be given directly to the family at the end of the event.
