Tickets were selling fast at the STP Gas Booster 500.
“Were going to have rivalry, It’s a short track, beating and banging it’s going to be a good time for all,” said race fan, Barrett Ellis.
Fans drove in from all over the country.
“I've seen tags for Arizona, New York, Pennsylvania you know everywhere,” said race fan, Chris Perdue.
“It’s a beautiful day you can just tell, the weather is awesome. There’s no better day to be out here to race,” said Chad Carter.
There’s no question that fans were excited about one of America's favorite high speed sports. Some described the stands as a packed house. Diehard fans had their predictions on who would finish first.
“Junior he's got it, that's where it's at,” said Perdue.
“I'm going to go with Johnson today. Johnson, this is his track, last time I was here he won and I'm going with that, said Cater.
For some the outcome isn't as important, as the time spent with racing fans. For others, it's literally all about the chase.
