The Central Virginia Electric Cooperative is reporting that 6,700 of its members are without power Wednesday morning.

Five CVEC substations have more than 500 outages.

They include:

  • the Red Hill (511 Outages) Whitehall (1346 outages) and Midway (658 outages) substations that serve members in Albemarle County,
  • the Piney River Substation (864 outages) that serves Cooperative members in Amherst and Nelson County, and
  • the Martins Store (3155 outages) substation that serves members in Nelson County.
