The NFL Lockout is a bad memory and today Kansas City football fans are thrilled about tonight's game and the team they love.
The pre-season opens for the Chiefs with a matchup tonight against Tampa Bay.
Arrowhead Stadium is expected to be one packed facility!
Last season, Tampa Bay and the Chiefs finished with a matching 10-6 record. Chiefs say this contest marks the second-consecutive preseason that the Chiefs have played the Buccaneers. The intensity is greater because of the quarterback matchup. Matt Cassel leads the team against Tampa Bay's Josh Freeman, out of K-State.
As always, there are high hopes for the home season. In 2010, Arrowhead Stadium was good to the Chiefs. Kansas City finished with a 7-1 regular season mark at Arrowhead Stadium, marking the sixth time the team has finished 7-1 or better at the facility.
The 2010 season also saw quite a turnaround for the Chiefs. Head Coach Todd Haley’s squad turned in a 10-6 record after a 4-12 performance in 2009. The Chiefs won the AFC West Championship and earned a home playoff game for the first time since 2003.
Good luck, Chiefs!
The game is shown tonight at 7 p.m. on FOX 4, but tune in at 5 p.m. when we begin our live coverage from Arrowhead.
