Walmart has applied to open a second location in Huntington Beach.
The company wants to place a store at Edinger Avenue and Goldenwest Street, where the former Home Depot and Expo Design Center were, said city Economic Development Director Stanley Smalewitz.
The new location is expected to be smaller than the Walmart at Talbert Avenue and Beach Boulevard, but it will offer a full-service grocery section, he said.
The new Walmart will bring about $400,000 a year in sales tax to the city, Smalewitz said.
