Floyd M. Johnston passed away at the age of 95 years young on March 10, 2012, after a long and wonderful life. He was born in Hennessey, Oklahoma where he met his beloved wife, Thera G Mc Neill. Floyd and ‘Jerry’ lived in La Canada Flintridge for over 60 years where they owned and operated Johnston Swimming Pools. While they had no children of their own, they are ‘uncle’ and ‘aunt’ to so very many who will always love them dearly! He is survived by many family including his brother Dennis Johnston, his sister Beula Klopolsky, Thomas and Margie Mc Neill of Palm Desert and many nieces and nephews, including Harriet Payne Hammons who is also a long time La Canada resident. He offered devoted friendship, kindness and a ‘world class’ sense of humor to anyone who got to know him, including many they traveled with all over the world, including Cynthia Hewson Pugh, his devoted friend and care giver of more than a decade. Floyd’s life was celebrated in the Wee Kirk o’ the Heather Chapel at Forest Lawn Glendale, where he is laid to rest with his loving wife, mother, brother, sister and other family members, who all preceded his ‘going home.’
