NBA-National Basketball Association roundup
Dec 21 (The Sports Xchange) - Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez is likely finished for the season with a broken foot, according to reports.
Lopez broke his right foot, the same one that was surgically repaired from a fracture in 2011.
It is believed that he sustained the injury during the second half of Friday night's overtime loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. Lopez played through the injury, clocking 44 minutes and finishing with 22 points on 9-of-19 shooting and seven rebounds.
The injury was revealed when Lopez underwent X-rays after the game.
It was the latest of several injuries the 9-17 Nets have had this season. Point guard Deron Williams, forward Paul Pierce, forward Andrei Kirilenko and guard Jason Terry are among the Nets who have missed time to injuries this season.
Lopez is averaging 20.7 points and six rebounds per game. Veteran Kevin Garnett will likely start at center and power forward/center Andray Blatche will get more minutes.
