When Hollywood announced plans to adapt Maurice Sendak's Where The Wild Things Are, many fans of the book expressed concern that an important piece of their childhood would be tarnished by the movie industry. Only time will tell whether Spike Jonze's version of Where The Wild Things Are lives up to the book, but in the meantime, we're taking a look back at other children's classics that have been adapted for the big screen.
