Singer Adan Sanchez, son of narco-ballad singer Marcelino "Chalino" Sanchez, died on Saturday, March 27, 2004, after the car in which he was riding blew a tire, lost control and rolled over in the state of Sinaloa in northwestern Mexico. He was 19 and a resident of Los Angeles. Sanchez had recorded nine albums of romantic ballads and tributes to his father, a pistol-waving music legend. The elder Sanchez transformed traditional Mexican ballads into tough tales about criminals and drug traffickers. He was abducted and found dead in 1992. The younger Sanchez had developed a large listening audience in Mexico and the United States.
