Iraqi prisoner David Daliberti, Jan. 27

David Daliberti is hugged by his sister, Patrice Hurn, upon his return to Jacksonville, Fla., on July 23, 1995, after he spent four months in an Iraqi jail. Daliberti, an aircraft mechanic working in Kuwait, was arrested when he and another American mistakenly crossed into Iraq. Bill Richardson, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, appealed to Saddam Hussein to let them go. Daliberti, who was born in Millington, Tenn., but moved to Jacksonville as a child, died Jan. 27, 2004, in Jacksonville. It was not immediately known what he died of but he suffered from hepatitis C and had had two heart attacks after returning home. He was 50.
