Insects winner

The winner of this week's SunShots series "Insects" goes to George D. Smorse for his picture of a fly that had gotten stuck in a window screen. The photo was taken with a Nikon D90 with a 60mm micro lens. Here is a critique by Baltimore Sun director of photography Robert Hamilton: "Despite the poor fly's fate, this picture gave me a laugh considering the insect made a bad choice on where to enter the house porch. Photographically, I liked the way the photographer executed the picture. He composed and focused it in a way to maximize the pattern of the screen while still making the fly the point of attention."
