Fall Foliage winner

Karen Mallonee is the winner for this week's Reader SunShots series "Fall Foliage" for her photo of maple trees at Garrison School in mid-October. She used a Canon G10 to capture the scene. Here is a critique from Baltimore Sun photo editor Jerry Jackson: "Karen made great use of the early morning light. By shooting with the sunlight coming in from the side, filtering through layers of foliage, she was able to show a broad range of color and give the image depth."

Automobiles winner

The winner for this week's SunShots series "Automobiles" is Matthew Tompkins for a humorous photo of his wife Christina and 3-year-old son Nicholas as they appear to be holding up a Lamborghini, shot at the company museum in Italy. Giving credit where it is due, Christina actually staged the photo for her husband to take with her Canon Rebel T2i camera. Here is a critique from Baltimore Sun director of photography Robert Hamilton: "Funny and imaginative pictures are always a pleasant surprise. When I came up with the category, there's no way I could have imagined something like this. This would have been a total home run if it had been just the 3-year-old holding up the car. He did a great acting job for the picture."
