The winner of this week's Sunshot theme "Stars" is Dimo Karaboyukov for his photo "Star Trails" taken last January near Sparks. According to Karaboyukov, "the picture is basically 1 hour and 28 minutes long. To create the image I stacked 176 shots of 30 sec each at f18 with ISO 3200 using Canon 60D with 18-55mm kit lens, tripod and remote shutter release." Baltimore Sun photo editor Jerry Jackson comments, "There is a lot to like about this hour-and-a-half long image; the warm glow of the distant city lights contrasting with the cool pink of the snow, the organic lines of the trees against the linear star trails. My favorite element, though, is the serendipitous lines made by airplanes traveling through the frame, which seemingly originate from the same corner."
