Mark Watson

<a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PESPT007749" title="Mark Watson" href="/topic/sports/mark-watson-PESPT007749.topic">Mark Watson</a> won a Pulitzer in 1944 for his <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="EVHST00000110" title="World War II (1939-1945)" href="/topic/unrest-conflicts-war/wars-interventions/world-war-ii-%281939-1945%29-EVHST00000110.topic">World War II</a> reporting and was the first journalist to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.  With the knowledge he gained from WWII, he reported from North Africa, Sicily, Italy, Britain, France and Germany.  The Pentagon press room is named for him.
