A series of rituals punctuates spring at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. From the Sea Trials where plebes “become one with the dirt” to the pomp and circumstance of Commissioning Week.

This year, the Class of 2021 tallied a time of 2 hours, 9 minutes and 35 seconds during the Herndon Monument climb. And the Class of 2018 tossed their caps after listing to President Donald Trump tout America’s strength. “We are witnessing the great reawakening of the American spirit, ” the president said.
