David Ahlback is the Bosun on the ship. He watches as the lines are secured in the harbor. This is the final ship of the season for Sail Baltimore until next spring. Norway¿Äôs HNoMS Statsraad Lehmkuhl will be docked at the Inner Harbor¿Äôs West Wall from November 12-16 for free public tours, making her ninth trip to Charm City. At 323 feet long, this is the largest sailing ship of the year for Sail Baltimore and a preview of the caliber of vessels that will be attending the city¿Äôs national celebration in 2014 to memorialize the War of 1812. The Statsraad Lehmkuhl weighs 1.516 tons and features 22 sails. The ship can hold up to 200, with a per?manent 20 person crew. Under sails, the ship can reach a speed of up to 17 knots, or almost 20mph, and 11 knots via a diesel engine when the sails are down.
