Administrators and students at Steuart Hill Academic Academy learned today that their school won the Mayor's Attendance Competition for the holiday season. Attendance improved from 90% last year to 95% this year for the period from Oct. 15 to Nov. 30. At a ceremony attended by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake, Baltimore City Public Schools CEO Andres Alonso, and other dignitaries, various rewards were announced: a holiday party with dinner and presents for students at The Grill at Peerce's, a $1,000 grant from Comcast, a pizza party, and gift certificates. The Mayor's Attendance Campaign is a partnership between the schools, the Mayor's Youth Cabinet and the Family League, along with Comcast and Under Armour.
