The annual ANZAC memorial service remembers the soldiers of Australia and New Zealand who fought in the two World Wars and came into being after the heroic campaign that followed the landings at ANZAC Cove in Gallipoli on April 25, 1915 in which the Allies lost 50,000 casualties in their battle with Turkish forces.
