A watershed lawsuit

The news: A long awaited lawsuit demanding that the state pump significantly more money into its historically black colleges and universities (such as Morgan State, whose president, David Wison, is pictured here) finally went to court this week. Our take: Maryland's HBCUs have been getting extra funding for the last 15 years under a deal cut during the William Donald Schaefer administration. Is it enough to make up for past discrimination? That's a difficult question. |
