From the State House to Capitol Hill?

The news: Several legislators, including (clockwise from top left) Sen. C. Anthony Muse, Sen. Nancy Jacobs, Del. Anthony O'Donnell and Sen. David Brinkley are running or considering runs for the U.S. House or Senate. They join Sen. Rob Garagiola who had previously thrown his hat in the ring in the newly redrawn 6th District. Our take: This is no big surprise. Redrawn districts plus a year in which legislators aren't on the ballot means a free shot at a national stage. Incumbents will have a big advantage in most cases, but in a topsy-turvy year like this one, you never know. |
