A letter writer recently claimed that The Sun writes too much on city violence ("Sun focuses too much on city violence," Sept. 4). I am having a hard time trying to determine just what Barb Trautman wants your paper to print.
Although it is painful to read, I applaud The Sun for keeping its readership appraised of occurrences of violent crime. It reminds all of us just how much hard work and effort is still needed to make the city a viable living choice.
I will remind Ms. Trautman that Baltimore is not Camp Kumbaya. As hard as it may be to accept, violent crimes are currently embedded in the very fabric of the city.
I suggest that in the future Ms. Trautman offer ideas or suggestions (as I have done myself) as to how Baltimore can approach the violent crime dilemma.
For Ms. Trautman to continue the mind-set she has is to say she is not in touch with the real, mind-numbing tale of the yellow-tape, bloodletting gallery we know as Baltimore.
