So let me get this straight: The Towson University 14-man basketball team must sit out their conference tournament and won't be eligible for post-season play because the team from a couple of years ago did not meet minimum grade requirements? ("Towson all fired up with no place to go," March 10.)
And this while they await the opening of a new state-of-the-art facility costing nearly $50 million in state and university funds?
Meanwhile, baseball, a clean program with a solid reputation and 35 student-athletes strong, playing in a beautiful but modest stadium that cost a hundredth the price of the new gym and was funded by alumni, parents and friends, is to be terminated at the end of the season?
And baseball is a drain on the university's budget? I don't get it.
