Rich scream loudest about taxes

Am I the only one growing weary of the whining letters to the editor about new taxes proposed by Gov. Martin O'Malley? If I am not mistaken, these letters are not being written by people who will be severely stressed by modest increases in a variety of taxes.

Take the letter from Mark Wilson ("O'Malley's perfect record on taxes and fees," April 4). One has to wonder if he is perfectly content to allow the state's infrastructure to continue to decay without anything being done to fix it.

Is he not embarrassed over the condition of many of the schools in this state? Does he not care about saving the Chesapeake Bay? Just how, one wonders, would Mr. Wilson plan to deal with these and the many other issues that confront the state today short of increasing revenue?
