I'm not a morning person, so when I read about Baltimore's mayor and police commissioner walking from Howard Street to the Inner Harbor to show how safe it is, I actually laughed out loud ("Rawlings-Blake, Batts stroll to show safe harbor," June 4).
As a resident of Pikesville, I can't imagine walking anywhere downtown — but then again, I wouldn't be escorted by several police cars, uniformed police officers and bodyguards.
