For weeks now The Sun has been running front page stories and editorials about Baltimore City's speed cameras ("New speed camera tests," Dec. 1).
Yes I'm sure a few cameras are not working properly, and, yes they should monitored. However, for the vast majority they seem to work, and they bring in a lot of much-needed revenue to Baltimore while hopefully deterring some drivers from speeding and running red lights.
Aren't there more important issues facing our area? Crime, education, the poor and homeless, urban renewal, our local economy, taxes, etc. come to mind. I don't remember The Sun ever running such persistent and in-depth coverage of those topics.
At this juncture, we readers get the point and there is a task force looking at the issue as well. Please redirect your focus to address the myriad of other problems facing us with far greater impact.
