Back in July, the tea party on the Eastern Shore was enjoying Glen Beck's inspiring words:

"You will be a rapid response team in your own area. When a neighbor is in need, you will be the one to feed, clothe and comfort. This won't be funded by taxpayer dollars. This will be a hand up, not a hand out. This will be a reminder that solutions don't come from Washington D.C., they come from you and me and other local citizens."

Where is the tea party now that we have hurricane damage ("U.S. denies aid to Md. storm victims," Dec. 5)? Have they decided that solutions do come from D.C.?
