Sanders and the Dems: An inconvenient marriage

How could Democrats have faith in a marriage of convenience?

The last line of your editorial regarding Sen. Bernie Sanders ("The Sanders-Clinton rift," May 20) is telling: "The sooner Mr. Sanders signals a willingness to declare a truce, the better for the party he says he wants to lead."

Senator Sanders is not interested in leading the party, he wants to lead the country. His association with the Democratic Party is a marriage of convenience — a circumstance that changes the view of the landscape.
