Eliminating AMT is a boondoggle, too

I'm curious why The Sun’s recent editorial critical of the Republican tax plan didn't mention the elimination of the Alternative Minimum Tax (“GOP tax plan offers costly table scraps for the middle class,” Nov. 2). As we learned from Donald Trump's last available tax return, the AMT was the source of vast majority of tax he paid in 2005. The elimination of the AMT would not benefit the middle class and would greatly advantage the president personally (“Alternative Fact of the Week: The middle-rich tax cut,” Sept. 28). That should be a bigger story because it's directly related to the last return we have for Mr. Trump.
