Pruitt's EPA isn't making America great

China is closing coal mines and leading the world in production and usage of solar panels, leading even Europe, while EPA director Scott Pruitt is reducing environmental controls on coal mining while removing incentives from renewable energy sources (“Trump EPA to repeal power plant emissions plan, posing challenge to Maryland clean air efforts," Oct. 9). So which country is set to be great in the 21st century? This is cutting a growing industry that the U.S. created costing thousands of high-tech future jobs as well as offering the promise of a better environment for our children.

The EPA is becoming a contradiction in name, a lobbyist for the dying fossil fuel industry allowing the destruction rather than protection of the environment.
