Rodricks doesn't understand Hungary

Dan Rodricks’ recent column, “Harris takes strange stance on Hungary” (March 4), is, indeed, weird. The writer summarizes the anti-Prime Minister Viktor Orban and anti-Hungarian propaganda of the elites who supported those who lost the last two elections in Hungary. Many of their charges are unsubstantiated and simply political opinions.

Also, the columnist reveals his own prejudices in failing to mention a single positive fact about Hungary. Mr. Orban is under attack from the outside because his policies aim to assure that Hungarians decide their own future. We in the U.S. aim to do the same.
