I can already hear the howls of indignation sure to be unleashed (both puns, regrettably, intended) by Patrick D. Hahn's recent commentary, “‘Dog lovers’: a city menace?” (April 22). Lest anyone dismiss this as simply a cosmetic issue confined to the leafy environs of Roland Park, I invite readers to Google "dog feces pollution" and learn about the public health threats posed by the degradation of water and air quality in the urban cores of Detroit and Cleveland.
The problem isn't dogs, of course, it's their irresponsible caretakers who make outdoors Baltimore a canine toilet. The rest of us just live here.
