The plague of violence by young people in Baltimore must come to an end. This will not be achieved by throwing more money at the problem ("Baltimore Mayor Pugh says crime ‘out of control,’ orders agencies to meet with police every morning,” Nov. 9). It can only be achieved proactively with parents taking responsibility for their children.
Moving society in this direction is the challenge of our times. If parents cannot teach their offspring to be law abiding citizens, then it is time to hold parents accountable.
