City school woes are Baltimore's fault

It is really amazing how a person with a lot of time on their hands and an outliner pen can come up with just about any justification on any subject they so desire to champion. After spending about an hour reading through all the reference data supplied by the writer of the op-ed “A fact/reality check on Gov. Hogan’s Baltimore schools claims,” (Jan. 10), and I wonder how many people did that, all facts extracted were weighted to prove her comments.

I could go through each claim and dispute it by bringing in more data dealing with the subject on all areas in Maryland, but I doubt it would really make any difference. The commentary is merely a blatant attempt at shifting blame from the city of Baltimore to the state and federal government and any other entity available, in this case, Gov. Larry Hogan. The fact that the writer’s company deals with school budgeting suggests she has an interest in defending Baltimore City Public School’s budget handling. Let’s face it, there are many ways to "skin mismanagement” but in the end, it is still mismanagement!
