The Sun is inconsistent on sports betting

Your Oct. 11 editorial concerning sports betting (“Sports betting? No reason to rush”) is incoherent and inconsistent. Apparently The Sun is a strong supporter of voters being able to cast their votes to determine who is elected or what referendums should be passed but do not believe the same population can choose what to do with their own money (i.e., gambling or not). Is there anyone on your editorial board with the ability to look at an issue with a modicum of rational consistency?
